What is a Pediatrician?
A pediatrician is a physician whose specific specialty is caring for children from birth to 18 years of age. Pediatricians address acute and chronic illnesses, learning disabilities, behavioral issues and the growth and development of children. Our goal is to help ensure that children grow into mentally and physical healthy, productive and happy adults.
What is a osteopathic physician or D.O.?
A D.O. is a physician skilled in the practice of medicine with additional training in the musculoskeletal system (muscle and bones). An M.D. and D.O. spend the same time in medical school; however, osteopathic education tends to have the additional benefit of concentrating on a holistic approach to medical care and disease states. Manipulation may be used as a modality to aid in the care of illness when appropriate and may be used in conjunction with medications and physical therapy.
